Aesthetic Sounds is an innovative music organisation that hosts events, concerts and exhibitions for established and unsigned music artists, musicians, fashion designers and artists.

The company has several branches working on everything from live music nights to ethnomusicology lectures.

Although having several focuses, the Aesthetic Sounds live music nights by far are the most well known and popular live soul music event in the UK.

Having started in 2005, the night features a four piece live house band, live acts which consist of singers, rappers, instrumentalists and spoken word artists.

Unique requirements from artists such as ensuring that all acts are ‘live’ in the truest sense i.e. no backing tracks or pre-made instrumentals.

The clientele is a hybrid of music industry professionals, well known acts, other aspiring artists as well as soul music lovers. Drawing on this unique mix of clientele, Aesthetic Sounds prides itself on showcasing international artists, who in turn bring together soul music lovers from across the globe.

There is a two-stage screening process for artists, which include the submission of a pack (biography, pictures and three original tracks) and then an informal interview.

All lyrical content is previewed by the team to ensure that artists are in keeping with the ethos of Aesthetic Sounds, which is to promote soul music in a positive way and to encourage cultural diversity
